Walking in the forest I stay in tune with the vibrations of life that emanate from the forest floor. Shimmering through my arms, into my hands while holding a camera that is exposing for several seconds. Creating layers of possibilities that remain a mystery until viewing the photographs. I am always surprised by what I have captured as I never repeat a movement twice. This mystery fascinates me as I allow the process to be repeated but they are never the same. This keeps me in a constant state of wonder for how can I know what the next image will be?

The activity is a meditation that keeps me in the present for how can I know what the future will be? I cannot predict what the next photograph will be any more than I can say what will come to pass or know when Henry the dog will sneak up on me to lick my face. There is no need for a mantra to stay present as the flow of energy entices me to be here. Where else is there to be? Staying in the mysterious flow of life is so satisfying. What else do I need? Images flash by, caressing my camera, encouraging the nuances of my walk to step forward and be recorded.
